2.4mR 2011 Class Meeting minutes September 6, 2011 Noroton, CT
Members attending: P. Wilson, B. Hall, C. Wilson, T. Ripley, J. Dorsett, J. Hill, M. Leblanc, C. Rosenfield, T. Sergo
2010 meeting minutes were accepted
Treasurers Report was accepted
Technical Committee: reported that in Alesund it was voted to merge the central leadership of OD and open class. Subsequent action by ISAF rejected the OD rule as an expansion of section K and removed section K from the Class Rule
.
Old Business: There was no old business
New Business:
1. OD issues: discussed-class is moving to get all US boats OD certified
2. Discussion of how to develop interest in the class.
a. Suggestion made of match racing event.
b. Possible other events discussed
c. Need to re-do web-site. Britt Hall will build web site with Tom Sergo’s help.
3. Upcoming Regattas:
a. Query from west coast about having 2.4 US Nationals in San Diego next year to co-ordinate with Disabled Worlds. Concern that distance and expense to move boats to San Diego would be prohibitive for all not planning on attending Disabled Worlds.
c. Possible dates for US Nationals 2012, June, late Sept. or early Oct.
Other possible venues discussed
d. Amerca’s will be in St. Petersburg first week in Dec.
e. Port Charlotte will host Pre-Worlds to help competitors prep for IFDS Worlds. Venue is set, documents are being revised.
f. Discussion of 2012 Worlds schedule.
g. 2012 NAs: Guest B. Millar said that 2012 NA’s could be in October but it was not necessary that the event be held. Other possible dates and locations: December in Florida, FT. Meyers or Port Charlotte after America’s
4. Election of Officers:
a. Peter Wilson was elected as the new Class President, effective September 7, 2011.
b. Britt Hall re-elected to Vice President.
c. Charlie Rosenfield re-elected to Sect/Treas.
d. Mark LeBlanc elected new member coordinator.
5. Roger Cleworth was granted Honorary Member status
6. B. Millar asked about open status of Miami OCR. Not known.
