Edison Sailing Center 2/10/2008 Ft. Myers, Florida

Contact Mark Bryant for more details about this regatta minikeelwet@yahoo.com This is a new sailing center in Fort Meyers. Fort Meyers is a beautiful area and is home to the Thomas Edison Estate. This location is only 2.5 hours from Miami and the event is being held the weekend after the Miami OCR. The organizers have already arranged for low hotel rates, low regatta fees and for social activities after racing. Floating docks make it a great location for 2.4 Sailing. The Sailing center has already placed an order for a small fleet of 2.4mR's. Let's support them on this one.

Paralympic Trials 10/13/2007 Newport, RI

John Ruf, Mark LeBlanc, Mark Bryant and Charles Rosenfield battled for nine days in Newport, RI in the Paralympic Trials. John Ruf solidified his victory only in the last day of racing. There were many trade offs for the lead throughout the regatta which made for a very interesting and tense championship.
John will need all the support we can give him over the next year as he increases his skill preparing for the Paralympics in China. Although we all know that John comes fully equipped to every regatta, he needs are support on the water to push him hard to be at the top of the fleet. This year more than ever it is important to attend regattas and push John to the top. To ask John specifically what he may need, email him at whitebuffalo@mac.com

2007 Hugh Fletcher Memorial 9/30/2007 Noroton, CT
The Hugh Fletcher Memorial Regatta was held September 29 and 30 at the Norton Yacht Club. Lee Morrison, the PRO, managed to get off six races; five of the 10 competitors remained on the water for the all six. The second day was predicted to be moderate with winds around 7 knots. The morning broke with 15 knots of breeze and smaller waves, but still wet and wild. Mark LaBlanc took four bullets, with the remaining top 5 places spread evenly among the top competitors. Third place went to Charlie Rosenfeld with 38 points, Second place went to Julio Reguero with 28 points, and first place went to Mark LaBlanc with 15 points.
